Bible Basics

The bible is one book that came from 66 individual books.

The bible starts with the book of Genesis (the story of mankind) and ends with the book of Revelation (a prophecy of things to come). All these different books are part of two main sections...The Old Testament and The New Testament.

The bible simply put, is God talking to us.

Yahweh God the Father wants us to know Him and His will and desires for us. Like any loving parent, they form a relationship with their children and set rules and expectations for them to follow. These rules and expectations are for the safety and well being of the child. God wants to protect us from both the physical and spiritual dangers that can harm us.

God also wants us to know our history.

The bible tells the story of mankind and how we ended up populating the earth and even where the different nationalities came from and our different languages. God along with His Son Jesus Christ created mankind, the earth, and everything in it. This place that we live was created in a loving manner for us to enjoy and be happy.

The Failure of Mankind

The bible explains how everything went wrong because of an enemy of both God and mankind (the devil) and through human disobedience.Because of the two previously mentioned things, sin entered the world and began to corrupt the paradise that God and His Son Jesus Christ created.

The Fixing of the Problem

God the Father and Jesus Christ never stopped loving us so Yahweh God had a way to fix the issue created by sin. That fix was through His Son Jesus Christ coming as a sacrifice for us. God however, wanted us as human beings to understand that we cannot live our life separate from Him and without His standards and morals. The bible is God's way to show us how He has been patient with us so that we have plenty examples of both victories with Him and failures without Him.

The Bible and Salvation - The Fix

The major portion of the bible that deals with fixing the issue of our sinful nature and learning how God desires for us to live is found in the New Testament  part of the bible. This part of the book also tells us major parts of God's future plans for ending the sinful earthly situation once and for all. The New Testament has the detailed story of God sending His Son Jesus Christ to teach us and sacrifice Himself for OUR sins. But wait there is more...

A Life Manual For Us...
